Down Syndrome International (DSi)

Down Syndrome International is a UK based international disabled people's organisation, comprising a membership of individuals and organisations from all over the world, committed to improving quality of life for people with Down syndrome, promoting their right to be included on a full and equal basis with others.

DSi's mission is to improve quality of life for people with Down Syndrome worldwide and promote their inherent right to be included and accepted as equal members of society.

Policy and practice, information, support and advice

DSi plays a lead role considering policies and practices on key issues affecting people with Down Syndrome (such as education, healthcare and human rights). They work with their members and partners to ensure accurate, up to date information, advice and support gets to those who need it around the world.

Network development and training

DSi develops and strengthens a membership network, improving communications, developing alliances and networks of self-advocates and families and involving members in their activities. At the same time DSi delivers training designed to build the capacity of national member organisations, people with Down Syndrome, their families and other stakeholders.

Advocacy and campaigning

DSi runs global campaigns and events advocating for the rights of people with Down Syndrome and participates actively in international disability and human rights forums, representing the global Down Syndrome community.
