European Disability Forum (EDF)
European Disability Forum (EDF) is an independent European non-governmental organization (ENGO) that represents the interests of 50 million disabled people in the European Union and stands for their rights. It was created in 1996 and is based in Brussels.
EDF brings together representative organisations of persons with disabilities from across Europe.
EDF defends the interests of more than 100 million persons with disabilities in Europe.
EDF is run by persons with disabilities and their families. We are a strong united voice of persons with disabilities in Europe.
EDF was created in 1996 by their member organisations to ensure that decisions at European level concerning persons with disabilities are taken with and by persons with disabilities. They have since established regular channels of advocacy to European institutions including the European Parliament, the European Commission, and the Council of the EU.
EDF is a full member of the International Disability Alliance (IDA).
