Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART)
Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) is a technology by which the spoken word is translated directly into written text. The text will appear on a display, making it possible for persons with hearing impairments to follow the conversation in real time by reading the text on the display. During conferences, CART is often shown on big screens for the audience. It can also be helpful for people to improve their understanding when the language spoken is not their mother tongue.
