Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)
The UN Convention on the Right of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) is an international human rights instrument that was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2006. After the necessary minimum number of nations had ratified the CRPD, it internationally entered into force in 2008. Whether your country has ratified the convention and it has become law in your country, you can check on the UN Treaty Data Base or on theĀ Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) website.

More information about the CRPD can be found in our section on 'Requirements of international frameworks'.
