Non-discrimination

Non-discrimination requires that people receive equal treatment irrespective of their particular characteristics. Non-discrimination is fundamental to the human rights-based approach and one of the underlying principles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). States Parties have the obligation to protect against discrimination and take steps to ensure non- discrimination, including by ensuring that reasonable accommodation is provided to persons with disabilities.
